Development of Fayette County Business Park Could Create More Than 1,000 Jobs
On August 13, 2018 Governor Tom Wolf announced new funding to create a business park in Uniontown, Fayette County, that will host more than 45 businesses and is anticipated to create more than 1,000 jobs upon completion of the development.
"The development of pad-ready sites will help bolster Fayette County to the top of the list when businesses are looking for a place to call home," said Governor Wolf. "I'm proud to support a project that will help Fayette County prepare for the business development and job creation projects of the future."
Redevelopment Authority of the County of Fayette was approved for a $500,000 grant to implement the authority's strategic plan of creating a business park centrally located in Uniontown that can host more than 45 commercial, retail, and professional spaces. When completed, this project will be able to house more than 1,000 jobs for workers in the area, which would make a significant impact on the unemployment rate and ensure job growth in the North Fayette area.
Supported through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), funding will support critical expansion projects, some of which will provide opportunities for additional economic development.
