Pennsylvania State Representative Kerry Benninghoff, majority leader of the House of Representatives has recently appointed Edward Christiano of Coal Township and Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Northumberland County to the PHFA Board of Directors effective July 1, 2021.

State Representative Kurt Masser on receiving word of Mr. Christiano’s appointment and the sponsor of his appointment said, “Ed’s involvement and execution of getting and administering grants and providing affordable housing opportunities to our residents made this a logical choice to serve on this board, this is definitely a positive for Northumberland County and the region.”

Kevin Gilroy, Chairman of the Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners, was equally pleased with the high honor stating, “On behalf of our board members and the Northumberland County Commissioners, this appointment is a tribute of the hard work that Ed and the Authority strive to provide.”

Christiano is also CEO of the Housing Development Corporation of Northumberland County (HDCNC) a 501c (3) non-profit that provides management and maintenance services and blight remediation grants. His is President of the Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange (HARIE). He is past President of the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies, having served 13 years as on the PAHRA Board of Directors. He also is a past President of the Eastern Association of Pennsylvania Housing Authorities, and serves on a number of other housing related and community service boards.
