PAHRA extends our warmest wishes to Cheryl Johns as she retires as Executive Director of the Altoona Housing Authority, having held that position since 2004.

Ms. Johns is a former PAHRA President and a staunch supporter of our organization, having served 10 years on the PAHRA Board of Directors, former Chair of the Scholarship Committee, past Co-Chair of the Member Services Committee, and prior member of the Legislative Committee.  She is also a member of the Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange (HARIE) Board of Directors, PAHRA’s premium Platinum Partner.  Cheryl is well-known throughout the membership and plays an active role in many PAHRA events and activities.

Altoona Housing Authority Deputy Executive Director, Brad Kanuch, will be stepping into the role of Interim Executive Director.  Brad has been a member of the PAHRA Board of Directors since 2023.  He serves as Vice-Chair of our Finance Committee and is a member of the Scholarship Committee.
