This employee performs a wide variety of professional accounting and procurement work which is performed within general policies and procedures and is subject to review by executive staff.

This employee helps to ensure compliance with HUD financial management guidelines and regulations as well as any vendor/partnership agreements.

If necessary, this employee could supervise clerical or fiscal support staff. This position is classified as Exempt and salary is based on experience. Benefits include, but are not limited to, 15 days’ vacation, 403B and medical, dental and insurance coverage with generous employer share.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – COMPTROLLER – WASHINGTON COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY

This a Full Time (M-F 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Civil Service position covered by the merit system of employment and focuses on responsible supervisory and professional accounting work in the maintenance of the housing authority’s fiscal records.  Work includes directing and coordinating the preparation of documentation, financial statements and reports to control the housing authority’s funds.  Duties will include supervising accounting and clerical personnel involved in receiving, recording, and reporting accounting data including general ledgers, Income & expense statements and balance sheets, as well as preparing analytical accounting reports and budgetary projections for the Executive Director and responsible for yearend closing, distribution of equity, depreciation expense, control over accounting computer system, fixed assets and bank reconciliations .  You will have the opportunity to work closely with various independent Auditors and Regulatory Agency Auditors while conducting their on-site reviews.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – DEPUTY DIRECTOR – HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ERIE

The Housing Authority of the City of Erie (HACE) is seeking qualified candidates for Deputy Director.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director and will assist the Executive Director in managing/directing the daily operations of the Authority.  Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience in administration of affordable housing.  HACE owns and manages 1,858 units of public housing, 85 multifamily units, plus 306 units of locally owned housing, and administers 1,100 Section-8 vouchers.  HACE is well known for its resident services including youth clubs, community policing, and FSS programs.
